कथाकार एक नौ साल का बच्चा है जिसे कारी नाम के पांच महीने के हाथी की देखभाल करने का कर्तव्य दिया गया था। पहले दो वर्षों के दौरान, लड़का हाथी की पीठ तक आसानी से पहुंच सकता था।

कारी फूस की छत वाले मंडप में रहता था। कारी को चालीस पौंड टहनियाँ खिलाई गईं। इसे नहाने के लिए नदी में ले जाया गया। एक घंटे तक रेत को उसकी पीठ पर रगड़ा गया और फिर वह पानी में मिल गई। बाद में यह आनंद और चमकदार त्वचा के साथ निकला।

वापस आते समय, कथाकार अपने खाने के लिए सुस्वाद टहनियों को इकट्ठा करने के लिए जंगल के अंदर जाता है। कथावाचक ने बताया कि हाथी एक कटे-फटे टहनी को नहीं छुएंगे। अगर इसे कानों से लिया जाए तो इसे आसानी से संभाला जा सकता है।

वह उसका पीछा करते हुए कारी के मंडप में गया और वहाँ उसने कारी के चारों ओर बिखरे हुए फल देखे। उसने सच्चाई प्रकट करने के लिए अपने माता-पिता को बुलाया और कारी को डांटा। ऐसा लगता है कि कारी ने उसे समझा और समझा जैसे वह चिल्लाया। हालांकि, गलत कारणों से डांटने पर उसने बदला लिया।

The narrator is a nine-year-old child who was given the duty of looking after a five-month-old elephant named Kari. During the first two years, the boy could easily reach the back of the elephant.

Qari lived in a thatched-roof pavilion. Forty-pound twigs were fed to Kari. It was taken to the river for bathing. The sand was rubbed on her back for an hour and then it got mixed in the water. Later it came out with bliss and glowing skin.

On his way back, the narrator goes inside the forest to collect the luscious twigs for his food. The narrator told that the elephant would not touch a mutilated twig. If it is taken by ear, it can be handled easily.

One day in March, while the narrator was collecting food from the banyan tree, he heard the voice of the kari. With an apprehension, the boy ran to where he had left him. When he reached there he felt that Kari must be drowning.

However, it turns out to be a savior and throws the narrator to save a boy, with lots of conflict and sharp moments from Kari extending her trunk to come out of the water.

Kari was mischievous but understands through training. Kari started liking ripe bananas when he tasted it once. Kari stole the fruits kept in the dining room several times. The elders were unaware of Qari's attitude and placed the blame on the servants and later on the narrator himself.

He got furious. On investigation, they found a broken banana in Kari's pavilion. The next day, Kari put his trunk inside the window to collect the fruit. Unaware of such infiltration was the fear of lies.

He followed her to Kari's pavilion and there he saw fruits scattered all around Kari. He calls his parents and scolds Kari to reveal the truth. It seems that Kari understood and understood as he screamed. However, he took revenge for being scolded for the wrong reasons.

Kari has learned all the signs and sounds. It worked as ordered. It learned a master call in five years. This is a sign to save yourself if you get lost in the jungle to scare all the wild animals. Even in the wild, the elephant makes an easy way to the house.
