The Wooden Toy Chapter Summary in English

Here we have uploaded the The Wooden Toy Chapter Summary in English for students. This will help students to learn quickly in English and Tamil language.

Once upon a time there was a village surrounded by mountains and many large trees. It was home to many wildlife, especially wild dogs. They hunted not only the animals in the forest but also the domestic animals in the village. Thus the farmer who lived near the edge of the forest with his son is most affected.

Mukund is the son of a farmer. He was adept at creating many things. Every day he went into the forest to collect dry firewood. He used to make toys using dried wood. Mukund's art is very popular in the town. Kids will play with his toys called woodpecker toys.

Long ago, wild animals hunted Mukund's mother. That incident made the wild animals hate the front. In his memory, he carved a statue of his mother on a tree and prayed daily. One night he woke up to hear his mother's words, 'Make your contribution through your art in eliminating the use of plastics because plastics pose a great danger to the environment.'

So, he started selling wooden toys at cheap prices and he was also good at making handicrafts. He learned art from his grandfather. Initially, he made toys for children using dried wood. At the time, he was making statues of any photo shown to him.

His father had nothing but a flock of sheep and a piece of land. Also, worked hard to run the farm. He used to raise some cattle like goat, cow and chicken. His father took all the cattle to pasture every day. When he returns home he will be counting all the animals. One day, when his father returned, he found some animals missing. His father could not sleep because the losses of the animals were increasing. Mohan was worried about his father. He had to do something.

He had an idea. He made a wooden drum because the loud noise coming from the drum would help his father to drive away the wild animals. Mukund's father was delighted when the drum threatened the animals. But, the animals came as soon as someone stopped playing the drums. His father could not stay awake all night. Thus the wildlife began to attack only at night. The restlessness and anxiety made the father sick.

The next day, Mukund went into the forest and saw a hollow cedar tree. But he could not find the fir tree. His friend told him to cut down the tree. But, he refused. Mukund realized that his mother was still alive in every tree. They finally found the wood and brought it home. Mukund went to sleep a little early. His father was playing the drums to drive all the animals

Suddenly the drumbeat stopped. Mukund's father was tired and he fell asleep. Nearly twenty-five animals were attacked that night. Back then, Mukund thought of designing some wooden tigers and some wooden humans to keep on the farm. Therefore, animals are feared because people are still awake.

The farmer and his son have been sound asleep ever since. Most landowners ordered wood animals from the front. They wanted to save their crops and farms. Soon, Mukund started selling toys in all corners of the land. This led to a greater demand for wooden toys than plastic toys. He was delighted to be able to take part in saving the world through his art.
